Cies Islands are part sice July 2002, along with the islands of Ons, Sálvora and Cortegada of maritime-terrestrial Atlantic Islands of Galicia National Park extending along the Rias Baixas.
Cies Islands are located in the Ria de Vigo form a natural barrier between the river and the sea. In this archipelago is the “Playa de Rodas” named by the prestigious newspaper “The Guardian” in 2007 as the best beach in the world, extolling its crystal clear turquoise waters, fine sand and pine trees that reach the sand.
This protected area is worth visiting for its scenery, its various viewpoints, routes for walking, bird observatories, vegetation, fauna, history …. They are a unique natural paradise.
Access to the Cies Islands is facilitated by a catamaran with regular lines of holy week in late September joining Vigo, Baiona and Cangas with the archipelago.
