Moana is together with Cangas, Marin and Bueu Vilaboa one of the five municipalities of the Morrazo peninsula.
On the coast of Moana we find beaches, like Domaio, Borna, A Xunqueira or O With (blue flag), combining tourist use in the production of shellfish such as clams and cockles.
In addition, the waters of Moana enjoy excellent characteristics for breeding and fattening of mussels in the troughs.
Moana has different both fishing and marinas as a relevant cultural activity which highlights the Festival Interceltique Morrazo.
Moana history is closely related to the sea. In the Strait of Rande the famous battle of Rande in which the increased transport of gold and other riches from the recently discovered America at the hands of the English and Dutch Navy, which defeated the Spanish Franco was lost took place (this is where gold was provisioned Captain Nemo in Jules Verne book “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea”).
